To ensure that heat networks are designed and operate effectively, the CHPA and CIBSE have brought together industry partners to establish common standards for the development of district heating.

Local Energy Scotland has reported a fantastic response to the Local Energy Challenge Fund, with a total of 114 applications received. The Challenge Fund panel decided on 17 projects to go forward in phase 1.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has published a heat map for England, which is assisting local authorities in planning for the decarbonisation of heat. It shows that nearly 50% of heat demand in England is concentrated with enough density to make heat networks worth investigating.
